On April 5th, 2023, the Ministry of Home Affairs issued a press release regarding recruiting 129929 Constable (General Duty) positions in the General Duty Cadre of the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF). Direct recruitment will be utilized to fill the Level 3 Constable positions within the Central Reserve Police Force. 

According to the press release, a total of 129929 positions will be filled, with 125262 designated for male candidates and 4467 for female candidates. 10% of the available positions will be allocated to former members of Agniveer.

According to the report, the Central Reserve Police Force announced a CRPF Constable Recruitment 2023 announcement on March 15th for 9212 new positions, and applications are being accepted from both male and female applicants. CRPF Constable Recruitment Selection Process 2023 

The CRPF constable recruitment procedure encompasses multiple phases. The selection process is comprised of a comprehensive set of steps.

1. Physical Standards Test (PST)

The initial phase of the selection process requires candidates to participate in a Physical Standards Test (PST). The examination comprises assessments of height, chest circumference, and body mass.

2. Physical Efficiency Test (PET)

The Physical Efficiency Test (PET) is a mandatory assessment that follows the Physical Standard Test (PST) for eligible candidates. The examination is over one kilometre, which must be accomplished within the designated timeframe.

3. Written Test: 

Successful Physical Efficiency Test (PET) candidates must participate in a written examination. The examination comprises multiple-choice questions (MCQs) that assess the candidate’s proficiency in general knowledge, general awareness, mathematics, and reasoning.

4. Trade Test: 

The Trade Test is administered to candidates who successfully pass the written examination. The trade assessment evaluates the competencies and expertise of the individual in the specific trade.

5. Medical Examination: 

Upon completing the trade test, candidates must undergo a medical examination to ascertain their physical fitness.

6. Document Verification: 

The conclusive phase of the selection procedure involves the verification of documents. Prospective candidates must furnish all essential documentation, such as academic certificates, caste certificates, and other relevant paperwork.

The ultimate determination is contingent upon the candidate’s aptitude demonstrated throughout all phases of the selection procedure. 

CRPF Constable Recruitment Age Limit

• The eligibility criteria for the position mentioned above stipulate that candidates must be 18 to 23 years old. However, there is a provision for relaxation of age requirements for candidates belonging to Scheduled Castes or Scheduled Tribes, who may be up to five years older, and Other Backward Classes, who may be up to three years older.
• The Staff Selection Commission will specify the date for determining the age limit in the advertisement.
• Furthermore, it is possible to relax the upper age limit for candidates from the initial group of Ex-Agniveers by a maximum of five years. Similarly, for candidates who are Ex-Agniveers, the upper age limit may be relaxed by up to three years.  

CRPF Constable Recruitment Eligibility Criteria 

• For the CRPF policeman (GD) positions, candidates must have passed Matric or a similar exam from a board or university recognized by either the Central Government or the State Government.
• A similar degree from the Army will also be accepted for people who used to be in the Army. Also, candidates must meet the physical and medical requirements that the Central Government sets occasionally.
• The job posting for Constable (General Duty) says that individuals must pass both the Physical Efficiency Test and the written test to be considered for the job.
• Note: People who used to be Agnives shall not have to take the Physical Efficiency Test (PET)

CRPF Constable Salary

After completing the recruiting procedure, all successful applicants would be assigned to the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) as Constables with a pay range of Rs. 21700-69100/-. This is merely the base CISF salary; it does not include the perks and allowances to which Constable/Fireman are eligible. For constable positions, the probation term is two years.
