Indian Navy SSC Officer Recruitment Age Limit & Vacancies, Salary

The age limit is 18 to 24 years old. There is, however, one exception: candidates born after July 2, 1998, are also eligible to apply for the position in the Education Branch.

There are a total of 250 vacancies for SSC Officers.

Candidates who have graduated/ post-graduated or are in the final year with a minimum of 60% marks in aggregate or equivalent CGPA.

Candidates who have obtained a degree in Engineering with 60% marks in aggregate or equivalent CGPA/System from such foreign university/ college/ institution.

The basic pay of Sub Lieutenant starts from Rs 56,100/- along with other allowances as applicable.

Indian Navy SSC Officer Recruitment Selection Procedure

  • BE/B.Tech: Candidates who have completed or are in the final year will have marks up to the 5th semester considered for SSB shortlisting.
  • Post-Graduate Degree: Completed candidates (MSc, MCA, MBA, M.Tech) will have all semester marks considered. Final-year candidates will be shortlisted based on pre-final year performance.
  • Final Merit List: Shortlisted candidates must email proof of degree completion with at least 60% marks to [email protected]. Those who don’t meet the criteria will be disqualified.
  • Merit List Preparation: Based on SSB marks, vacancies, and medical clearance.
  • SSB Interview Notification: Shortlisted candidates will be informed via email or SMS.
  • SSB Travel Allowance: First-time applicants can claim AC three-tier rail fare for the SSB interview and must bring bank account details (name, account number, IFSC).
  • Training Eligibility: Candidates will be inducted as Sub Lieutenants after clearing the induction medical exam.
  • Unmarried Candidates: Only unmarried candidates are eligible for training. Married candidates will be discharged and must repay all expenses.
  • Voluntary Withdrawal: Officers who withdraw or resign during probation must refund training costs, pay, and allowances with interest.

  • To save time, candidates can fill in their details and upload documents in advance.
  • Keep relevant documents handy for accurate personal information entry, matching details with the Matriculation Certificate.
  • Email and mobile number fields are mandatory.
  • Scanned documents required: marks sheets (up to 5th & 7th semester for BE/B.Tech), proof of date of birth (10th & 12th certificates), CGPA conversion formula, Merchant Navy certificate (if applicable), NCC ‘C’ certificate, and a recent passport-size photo.
  • Documents must be scanned in JPG/TIFF format; illegible documents will lead to rejection.
  • Print out the application and carry it for the SSB interview.
  • Once submitted, the application cannot be modified.
